Pastor F. Delano R. Benson Jr.

Rev. F. Delano R. Benson Jr, the ninth pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church of St. Louis, Missouri began his pastoral journey 28 years ago at Second Baptist Church in Columbia, Missouri under the leadership of Rev. Donald McNeal.  Ordained in 1986 under Rev. Leon Wright of Travelers Rest Baptist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Rev. Benson was called to be the senior pastor of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. He previously served as senior pastor of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church of Holts Summit, Missouri.

Rev. Benson,  a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina is married to Brender Benson and has two children and two grandchildren.  Having graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Pastor Benson received his Master of Divinity degree from Eden Theological Seminary and his Doctorate of Ministry degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University. 

His vision is uncompromisingly clear, with one central principle; to build and develop a kingdom of empowered people for God.

Holding firmly to the commissioned mandate in Matthew 28:18-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations”, Pastor Benson has taken the gospel into national and international communities, as an active participant in both the American Baptist Convention as well as the National Baptist Convention. He is a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserve serving as a Chaplain currently assigned to the US Marines Corps.
